ClientPremios Alfonso Décimo
The special relationship between middle ages King Alfonso X and the city of Murcia is historically well-known. So much so that he expressed his desire in his will to have his heart buried in the city's cathedral. This symbolic and romantic act has become a beautiful concept that represents the Alfonso X Culture Awards. This concept is made visible through the visuals of the awards ceremony, the communication, and most importantly, in its most cherished element, the trophy.
A HEART MAKED TROPHY
In its formal design, the heart is true to its anatomical shape. However, in terms of form, it is a work of synthesis. The surprise comes when the trophy is turned, revealing the heart in its iconic form, offering this dual interpretation. The use of different colors was a natural solution to differentiate special categories. The nobility of blue allows us to speak of a lifetime achievement award. Conversely, the purity of white represents a career that has yet to be written.
To give the trophy prestige, it was important to consider its density to provide that sense of weight when held, its size to resemble a real heart, its durability, and its stability when placed on a surface. Manufactured by Trophy House in resin with ceramic filler, it has weight and allows for production from a mold. The matte lacquer used is the same as that in the automotive sector, providing durability.
A LOGO THAT BEATS
The entire identity is based on two colors that symbolize blood and nobility. Its logo is conceived as an animated monogram representing the heartbeat.
The Söhne Breit typography by Klim Type Foundry, a digitized revision of the legendary Akzidenz Grotesk, provides us with sobriety and stability, enhancing the event’s visuals.
