NAMING

The creation of a naming or brand name is the first step towards a coherent and solid corporate identity. The brand should not be limited to the visual aspects, addressing its conceptual dimension and its verbal aspects supposes a guarantee towards the memorability and differentiation. Naming is a fundamental part of the creation of brands or  branding on which we must work after establishing a brand concept as a starting point.

A good naming identifies and links the brand with its corporate culture and its values, favoring the evocative potential of words over their descriptive nature and taking into account the synchrony with the visual part of the brand. At the studio we have developed several naming names for clients of all kinds, from vintage clothing stores to purchase centers for construction materials. Always starting from the concept to its verbal form and its typographic materialization in the logo.

ATIPIC

Sector

Horeca
Catering

The identity for this catering company focused on a very powerful visual proposal that started from a dynamic graphic that leads us to the idea of personalization. With this  naming we wanted to propose a way of doing things, a brand style. Atipic is short, easy to pronounce and differentiating within the sector in which it is located.

BASE

Sector

Film
Training

A film school directed by four first division professionals, with an international vocation and located in a city with a great military tradition such as Cartagena.

The Base is a very evocative naming that takes you to a place inside your head. And if we talk about cinema, that place must undoubtedly be a very peculiar place with people who have a spirit that is intrepid enough to put aside the standard acronyms of Spanish film schools and call their project  La Base .

A proposal that brings together many of the ingredients that must be present in the brand in a very small space.

CINEMA + CARTAGENA + TRAINING > THE BASE

BLOOP – CREATE YOUR OWN SWEET WORLD

Sector

Catering
Candies

A candy kiosk proposes that we design its brand concept. From there we began to work on how to offer a user experience that went beyond the purchase of sweets to distance the brand from other competitors that sell this product in bulk. We proposed to our clients that the brand concept revolve around bubbles and from there we suggested that they sell the product in transparent PVC spheres and that their point of sale have a spherical shape.

We decided to call the brand Blooop  ‘onomatopoeia which refers to the formation of a bubble’. Its phonology transmits us spherical and friendly sounds that not only fit perfectly with the brand concept but also add sympathy and sweetness to the whole.

DIVENDI

Sector

Construction
Purchase
Sale

Divendi is a central purchase and sale of construction materials. This naming is a simple game of syllables and lacks a direct meaning. An invented word that has certain links with the verb to sell , introducing the interlocutor into the field of the brand in a sympathetic way by repeating the phoneme ‘i’.

SELL > DIVENDI

ROP & ROLL

Sector

second
hand
fashion

Rop & Roll is a second-hand clothing store with a clear 60s-70s trend. This naming is based on the idea that clothes, like rock, never die. The strength of style against fashion.

FOR INSTANCE

Sector

Education
Pedagogy

According to the RAE,  pedagogy is ‘what teaches and educates by doctrine or examples’. Our naming proposal is direct and simple in this sense. For example , it is a small psychology office run by two young professionals who have been able to see their modus operandi in this naming.

LA MINA

Sector

Sport
Football

This high-performance sports training company, formerly known as HPFC, had a huge problem, not even its own workers knew its name. Its generic and impersonal name had left behind the meaning of its initials, falling into the impersonality of capital letters without character.

After a study of the situation, we proposed a new brand concept to the client. If raw players entered there, they had to take out gold and diamonds from their potential. In addition, its headquarters were in La Unión, an old mining town in the Sierra de Cartagena (Spain), which gave the matter more meaning.

The naming  La Mina not only provides a symbolic value to the brand, but also plays with its toponymy, linking it to a place that is both symbolic and geographically real. An international brand with a name in Spanish makes perfect sense if we talk about soccer, since we infect La Mina with a type of soccer that is the birthplace of the great clubs worldwide.

LAK

Sector

Marketing

We developed this naming for a marketing consultant who introduced us to the idea of a marketing laboratory as the axis of his project. From this concept we worked with the search for a short name with character that would avoid a pretentious tone to get closer to the freshness of a young and prepared professional. The phonological similarity of the English word luck ‘ luck’ led us to an interesting semantic game that we ended with the slogan It’s not luck, it’s marketing.

LABORATORY (LAB) + MARKETING > LAK

DRY CARMEN

Sector

Fashion
Crafts
Design

Carmen Vidal is an accessories designer with a changing portfolio of products whose only common denominator is its author. Carmen is very clear that her product is open to an international market even though she lives in a small town called Rincón de Seca (Dry Corner in English).

DRY > DRY > DRY CARMEN

THE EXPANSIVE

Sector

Cultural
photography

In this project we proposed La Expansiva as the name for this association whose purpose is the promotion of photography from an authorial perspective. We start from the concept of dissemination as the central axis of the proposal, since this characteristic is the fundamental basis of the group that tries to expand author photography, generating synergies with other disciplines such as journalism, gastronomy, sports or marketing at the same time as positions the local photographic scene outside its territorial borders

DISSEMINATE + EXPORT > DISSEMINATE > EXPAND
